Total length about 65cm - tail 30cm and weight averaging over 900g. Overall a dark grizzled grey. Occuring in all habitat types and frequently seen along the coastal cliffs. Diurnal - terrestrial and solitary. Fairly omnivorous - feeding on insects - mice - small birds - eggs - reptiles and spiders. They take cover in holes in the ground - under rocks - or in thick vegetation.
