Sparsely branched, closely leaved and grey-felted shrublet up to 50cm. Leaves small, elliptic, ascending and overlapping; flowerheads discoid, mostly solitary at branch tips, 2-3cm across; conspicuous papery pink to red bracts, sharply pointed.
