Erect or sprawling, shortly hairy, tuberous-rooted perennial up to 60cm. Leaves linear-oblanceolate to oblanceolate. Flowers in raceme-like cymes, white to purple, calyx 10-20mm long, petals bifid.

Seeds are discoid and peripherally-winged.
