Erect sparsely branched shrublet up to 30cm. Leaves dentate, mainly in a basal rosette, smaller leaves up the stem; flowerheads in corymbs, purplish, no ray florets, on longish stalks.

Latin: erubesco = reddening, blushing; referring to the colour of the flower heads.
