Plants stout to slender and erect up to 35cm tall. Leaves near ground level, ovate, transition to upper sheaths gradual. Inflorescence dense with 6-150 dull white flowers tinged with green and with pale purple patches at the two lip entrances, faintly cheese-scented. Bracts spreading then incurved. Spurs pouch-shaped, 1mm long. The mouth of the flower almost completely divided vertically into two entrances by the descending lip. Flowers pollinated by fungus gnats.

Singly or in small groups in dry to damp sandy soils
