Description

Shrublet up to 50cm, with slightly hairy to papillate branches, coppicing from a woody base. Leaves sessile, heart to lance-shaped, often overlapping, glossy; small yellow to reddish flowers in short terminal spikes, subtended by broadly diamond-shaped bracts; style 4-winged and anthers thick and fleshy with small pollen-sacs near the base.
