Annual up to 20cm. Leaves opposite, ovate, toothed; small, flowers in lax racemes, white with purple lines, palate yellow or orange with 2 papillose bosses, upper lobes rounded; spur 0.5-2mm long; capsules large, oblong, twice as long as wide.
Mostly seen after fire.
Latin: luceo = to be light, to shine; referring to the glossy, shiny appearance of the little flower.

Mainly clay and gravel slopes
