Female: A single-stemmed shrub up to 2m. The linear to sickle-shaped leaves have fine silver hairs when young (i.e. at the tips of the branches), becoming hairless later (65mm long - 6mm wide). Involucral leaves are yellow and the hairy cones (30mm long - 22mm wide) retain seed for several years. Male: similar to the female.
