Erect willowy shrub up to 2.5m. Leaves in pairs, overlapping, oval and pointed. Flowers are borne in groups of 4-6, are pale yellow and hairy and have long tubes; flower clusters are raised above the topmost leaves.
Latin: oppositus = opposite; folium = leaf: referring to the opposite leaves of this species.
