Eye-catching cormous geophyte up to 20cm. Leaves linear, sticky, 4-6mm wide, margins and midrib thickened, forming two narrow grooves on each surface. Flowers in 1-4 flowered spike, pink with darker veins, perianth tube 24-32mm long, tepals spreading, 35-40mm long; bracts green and sticky.
After: Hans Schinz (1858-1941), Swiss professor of systematic botany and Director of the Botanical Garden in Zurich, an explorer and botanist who collected in South Africa and Namibia.
