Description

Thinly cobwebby shrublet up to 30cm. Leaves linear with involute margins (involute: leaf margins rolled in towards upper surface), spreading to recurved and twisted; flowers in several, shortly stalked terminal clusters, mostly 2-flowered, purple with pink rays; pappus bristles feathered (pappus: ring of hairs or scales round top of ovary outside corolla).

Latin: dispar = differently (ie. imperfectly) matched, unequal, -ago = indicates resemblance; referring to the different types of florets in each tiny capitulum).
