Low shrublet up to 30cm, slender branches arising from near base of stem; non-sticky plant. Leaves linear, erect or spreading, up to 2.5cm long; flowers are pale-pink and star-like, borne singly or in 2's or 3's at branch tips.
Greek mythology: Chiron was the wisest of all centaurs, (hence common name Centaury), famous for his knowledge of plants, medicine and surgery.
