Erect, or somewhat sprawling perennial up to 40cm. Leaves narrow or needle-like, hairless or densely woolly. Flowers yellowish, in clusters of 1-5 male flowers, or a solitary female flower.
The fruits are carried above the leaves and are variable in size, oval and slightly ribbed.
