Small erect or suberect perennial with ascending branches from a woody base, up to 35cm in height. Leaves relatively long and very narrow, mostly glabrous. Small flowers are yellowish.

Fruit is relatively large, obovate, shorter than the bracts, strongly ribbed, not wrinkled.
