Tuberous tufted perennial up to 30cm. Leaves lobed and petioles of lower leaves clearly lobed, the end lobe of the leaf is often the largest and is not particularly deeply toothed. Flowers are purple or white with radiate flower heads.
Often found growing with Senecio hastifolius which is very similar but which has a single large lobe on the end which is quite deeply lobed or toothed and the petiole of the lower leaves is never or rarely lobed.
