Non-thorny, whitish-felted small tree or shrub up to 5m. Large leaves ovate to elliptic up to 25cm long; flowers crowded in terminal corymbs, light purple, up to 10mm across.

Berries yellow, velvety up to 10mm in diameter.

A very invasive alien in parts of Kwazulu Natal.
