Rhizome is creeping, 4-7mm in diameter. Fronds spaced 4-30mm apart, stiff, erect; stipe brown, glabrous. Lamina deeply pinnatifid to pinnate, rarely completely single; ultimate lobes narrowly oblong, base flared, adnate; texture thickly leathery, almost fleshy, both surfaces glabrous, margins sinuate to shallowly crenate. Sori round to oval, 1-3mm in diameter, set in single row on either side of costa.
Never occurs far from the coast.
Habitat
Almost always a low to high level epiphyte, sometimes in forest on wet rocks
