Cormous geophyte, 6-10cm tall; stem branching above the ground. Basal leaves 2, sometimes solitary. Flowers pink to rose to coppery with dark marks at edges of yellow cup; inner bract with brown membranous margins.
Latin: cupros = copper, coppery; referring to the coppery colour of the flowers of this variant.
The flowers of the Romulea genus only open on warm sunny days, usually around midday, sometimes later.
