Glabrescent, short-lived perennial up to 1m. Leaves opposite throughout, oblanceolate, toothed; flowers in corymbs (flat-topped racemose inflorescence, in which the flowers arise at different positions but all reach the same level), tube funnel-shaped, upper lip 2-lobed, mauve with orange patch.
