Tuberous geophyte, 8.5cm to 24cm tall, with a stout stalk. Two leaves pressed flat on ground, scattered with long hairs on upper surface, up to 95mm broad; inflorescence dense, up to 30 flowers, more or less on one side of the stem; stem without bracts, long hairs at right angles to stem; flowers cream to yellow, spur curved.
Far less common than Holothrix villosa var. villosa and also distinguishable from it by the shorter, stouter flowering stem and denser inflorescence.
Habitat
Peaty soil on rock seepages, mostly from 400-1,000m
