Erect shrublet up to 90cm with open branches. Leaves are crowded, overlapping and pointed; flowers are crowded towards the ends of branches; long, tubular corollas, flaring at the mouth, sticky; greenish yellow in Fernkloof but colour variable elsewhere.
Latin: viscous = viscid, sticky; referring to the sticky flowers of this species.
