Description
Erect shrub to 1m. Leaves have black stomas. Flowers are large, ovoid to tubular; yellow to greenish-yellow, often with dark brown apex; far exserted anthers.
Resembles Erica coccinea.
Greek: melas = dark, black, stoma = opening; referring to the leaves of this species.
Habitat
Mountain slopes to coastal hills
Flower Date
January to December.
