Erect to sprawling shrublet up to 50cm. Leaves are 4(3)-nate, adpressed to spreading; small pink flowers, tubular-ovoid with exserted anthers. Similar to Erica labialis and Erica ericoides.

Flowers are slightly honey-scented and pollinated by bees. 

Latin: glaber = glabrous, smooth, hairless, ellus = diminutive, laevis = smooth; referring to the flowers of this species.
