Slender shrublet up to 1m. Leaves are 3-nate, adpressed to stem; terminal clusters of small, pink flowers 3-10mm long; calyx enlarged and predominant over the corolla; the urn-shaped corolla turns brown at its tip soon after opening. A form with larger pink flowers grows on the southern slopes of the Kleinrivier Mountains.
Latin: corium = skin, covering; possibly referring to the enlarged and dominent calyx over the corolla
