Stemless, tufted, insectivorous perennial. Leaves wedge-shaped, in a basal rosette, covered with sticky glandular hairs; 1 to few small flowers, white (in Fernkloof), red or mauve, on hairy flower stalks which arise from the centre of the basal rosette of leaves. Plants derive part of their food source by digesting insects trapped in their sticky hairs.
