Sturdy, bulbous geophyte up to 25cm. Leaves 1-5, spreading, channelled, dry at flowering; flowers bright-red, 4-5cm long, nodding, tubular to narrowly trumpet-shaped, on a hollow stem.
Flowers seen 12 days after fire. Probably pollinated by the Table Mountain Beauty butterfly.
