Rhizomatous geophyte up to 40cm. Leaves threadlike in a tuft, dry at flowering; flowers mostly white, may have pinkish tinge, in a narrowly cylindrical raceme; bright yellow stamens; stamens lack the beards of the similar Bulbines.
