A resprouting erect shrub up to 1.5m with spreading, stalked, soft textured leaves, 10-15mm long and 1-2mm wide. The woolly flower heads grow singly on short stalks and are 6-8mm wide. They are grouped into flattish heads at the ends of the branches. squarrosa = spreading, refers to the spreading (out from the branch) habit of the leaves.
