Compact shrublet up to 30cm. Leaves 3-foliolate, leaflets elliptic to suborbicular, flat, mucronate or spine-tipped, leathery, subglabrous, margins and main veins thickened; flowers 2-4 at branch tips, bright yellow, fading to bright or dark red, wings and keel silky, calyx shortly hairy, lobes awl-shaped.
