Dainty rhizomatous geophyte up to 40cm. Stem terete, slender and unbranched with 1 or 2 terminal flowers. Leaves fine and grass-like. Flowers bright blue, very occasionally white; spathes and bracts greenish with transparent margins.

Flowers mostly after fire.
