Description

Perennial plant where the reproductive organs are modified into strobili. Stems are erect, arching or pendulous, up to 660mm long and dichotomously branched (growing tip divides into two equal parts). Leaves are firm and leathery, closely imbricate, narrow and oblong up to 12mm long. Sporophylls (modified sporangium-bearing leaf) is shorter than foliage leaves, and forms a distinct strobili (cone-shaped structure) at branch ends; sporangia in axils kidney-shaped, brown.
