Cormous geophyte up to 40cm. Leaf single, narrow, channelled, trailing above. Flowers enclosed in green attenuate spathes, are creamy-yellow with brownish markings; tepals unequal, the outer larger.

Greek: delta = triangle, -oideus = indicates resemblance; referring to the triangular shape of the open flower.
