Cormous geophyte up to 20cm. Leaves falcate (sickle-shaped), 8-16mm wide, margins crisped. Flowers cream or maroon, in a flat-topped panicle, tending to hang to one side, strongly fragrant; perianth tube cylindrical, 8-10mm long; tepals sub-equal 3-5mm long.
2 colour forms of this species occur in Fernkloof; one maroon with cream markings, the other greenish-yellow.
