Bulbous geophyte up to 30cm. Leaves 2, strap-shaped, plain or spotted with brown.  Flowers sessile (without a flower stalk), cream-coloured, yellow, blue, lilac or violet, with pale brown markings, narrowly bell-shaped; heavily scented.
