Cormous geophyte up to 35cm. Leaves sword-shaped to linear, margins usually with wings held at right angles to blades, 2-10mm wide, minutely hairy on veins and margin edges. Flowers in 2-6 flowered spike, white to cream, sometimes red or purple underneath; perianth tube about 2mm long; tepals about 10-15mm long; bracts dry, rusty above.
