Tuberous geophyte up to 30cm. Leaves linear-lanceolate. Flowers many in a dense raceme, sepals green tinged maroon, petals rusty red to maroon, lip white tinged with maroon, lip appendage green, lip blade broadly deltate-hastate.

Latin: ruber = to be red, ruddy; referring to the colour of the petals.
