Plants slender and erect, up to 50cm with cauline (arising from the stem), strap-shaped leaves grading into the floral bracts. The inflorescence is cylindrical with numerous overlapping green, sweet-scented flowers. Bracts as tall as the flowers. The spur is saccate (pouch-shaped).
Habitat
Widespread sea-level to 1200m in damp or swampy places often occuring in large populations
