Description

Shrublet or tree to 15m - bark often with yellow pigments. Evergreen leaves are elliptic to circular - thick - shiny dark green above. Margin toothed along the upper half. Veination distinct. Flowers in small white clusters. Fruit fleshy - green to purplish-black. Leaves apparently toxic. The wood was used to make ladles at the time of Simon van der Stel.(17th century).
