Description

Plants 20-65cm high, deciduous. Red underground rhizomatous stem. Leaves hairless, linear to lanceolate, to 35mm wide. Flowers, pale apricot-yellow, in lax panicles, stamens very short and they are adapted primarily to pollination by honeybees. Bracts mostly papery, recurved above.
