Description

Tuberous, tufted perennial up to 30cm. Leaves often polymorphic (2 or more clearly different forms), on long stalks, variously arrow-, heart-, or lyre-shaped and lobed or toothed, often purple beneath, margins revolute; flowerheads radiate, 1-few on scaly scapes, purple or yellow disc of florets with purple, dark pink or sometimes white rays; involucral bracts broad.
