Description

Evergreen, small shrub up to 60cm. Leaves trifoliate (divided into 3), leaflets sessile, stiff, obovate, coarsely toothed above; male and female flowers on different plants; flowers small, whitish.

Fruits smooth, three-pointed (tricuspidate).

The common name Korentebos is derived from the resemblance of the drupes (berries) to currants (Afrik: korente) and the common name Taaibos refers to the tough (taai) but resilient character of the branches.
