Description

Rounded, dense shrub up to 2m, sparsely woolly on the young parts. Leaves dark green, leathery, oval to elliptical, often toothed on margins; bears clusters of bright yellow flowers, 20mm across; involucral bracts are hairless or sparsely woolly; purple berries are dispersed by birds. The ash of this plant was used in soap manufacture.
