Erect, white-woolly shrub to 1.5m. Leaves often reflexed, lanceolate to ovate, hooked at tips and twisted with axillary tufts. Flowerheads discoid, several in terminal clusters, 5 or more flowered; bracts brown, inner bracts thick and faintly keeled above. (Very similar to Metalasia densa, but leaves are hooked at tips). Metalasia muricata can be seen along the cliff paths.
