Description

Mat-forming succulent with clear sap. Stems have 4 rows of conical tubercles (rounded nodules); flowers large, solitary, speckled and five-pointed with a raised bowl-shaped centre, cream to yellow with liver-purple spots; pollinated by blow flies which are attracted by the foetid scent.
