Description

Slender, erect shrublet up to 30cm, sparsely branched from base. Leaves about 5mm in diam; flowers pink or magenta, remaining open, petals spathulate; filamentous staminodes papillate, bright yellow.

Seeds are held in tough woody capsules which open when wetted, ie. after rain.

Greek: erepto, erepho = to roof over, to crown (stamens are concealed by the staminodes).
